Obituary of Stephen Roy Major
BLUE MOUNTAIN – Stephen Roy Major, 51, Blue Mountain, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Wingham, Ont., he was a son of the late Roy Thomas and Patricia Elaine (Hawker) Major. Stephen had been employed with New Glasgow Cleaning for 11 years as a floor finisher. He enjoyed raising chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys on his hobby farm. In earlier years he was an avid bowler.
Surviving are his twin daughters, Cassie and Shannon, Ontario; sisters, Susan, Patricia, Kathy (Larry) and Betty-Anne; step-sisters, Paula and Alice; brothers, Robert “Bob”, Kelly and Bill; uncle, Fred; aunt, Barbara; nieces, Sarah, Cathy and Julie; nephews, Luke, Brandon and Kevin; grandnieces, Rebecca, Tayler, Emily and Laila.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step-mother, Millie (Paris); niece, Holly.
The family will receive visitors 12-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
