ABERCROMBIE – Dorothy Darlene Austin, 55, Abercrombie, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 15, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Marilyn (MacLeod) Himmelman, Bridgeville and the late James Himmelman. Darlene enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, reading, playing chess and board games, and going for drives. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Besides her mother, Marilyn, she is survived by husband, Robert; daughters, Amanda MacCrae, New Glasgow; Tiffani Terris (Cotton Houle), Hamilton, Ont; granddaughter, Amelie Houle, Hamilton; sisters, Wendy (Mark) Crosby, Lyons Brook; Edna (Billy) Thomson, Lyons Brook; brothers, Jimmy (Janet), Stellarton; Barry (Cheryl Johnstone), Lyons Brook; Robert, Bridgeville; Lloyd (Michelle), Island East River; Timmy (Belinda Kirby), MacLellan’s Brook; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides her father, James, she was predeceased by nephew, Justin in infancy. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18th in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Bridgeville Cemetery.
