Obituary of Olive Marea Keough
NEW GLASGOW - Olive Marea Keough, 88, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Peter Augustin and Margaret Mae (Campbell) Higgins. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League, New Glasgow. Olive had served with the Interparish Choir and volunteered with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She faithfully attended Friday morning Mass at Glen Haven Manor, where she served as a lay reader. Olive was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple, enjoyed music, reading and socializing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are daughters, Margie (Bill) Morkin, Cathy (Ross) Dahl and Patsy Severtson, Claresholm, Alta.; Sharon (Lyndon) Anderson, Lwr. Sackville; sons, Charlie (Lee) and Allan, New Glasgow; John (Stephanie), Claresholm; Wayne, Cedar, B.C.; sons-in-law, Roy, Whitehill; Dennis, Claresholm; grandchildren, Cindy, Wendy, Steven, Chris, Heather, Andrew, Natalie, Emily, Jennifer, Jordan, Matthew, Chelsea, Zachary and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Haileigh, Brody, Laney, Tyrel, Avery, Adeline and Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Theresa Lawrence; granddaughter, Maria Fahey; great-granddaughter, Lily MacDonald; sisters, Gertrude, Irene and Mary; brothers, Charles, Gerald and John.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Friday August 5th in P. & K. Mac Donald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday August 6th in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. Private interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
