Obituary of Isabel Margaret Davis
NEW GLASGOW – Isabel Margaret Davis, RN, 92, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Stellarton, New Glasgow and Green Hill, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Winfield Stuart and Mary Margaret (Harris) Robertson. She graduated from the Aberdeen School of Nursing in 1940 and had been a community and private duty nurse for many years. Prior to retirement in 1983, she had been a Day Supervisor at Glen Haven Manor for 10 years. She was a member of Greenhill-Alma United Church and the Aberdeen School of Nursing Alumni. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing, swimming and treasured time spent with her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Myrna MacLeod, Stellarton; Edith Davis, Halifax; son-in-law, Ralph Arbuckle, Green Hill; grandchildren, Capt. Alan (Lizon) Arbuckle, Greenwood; Kevin (Tracy) Arbuckle, Halifax; Tracey (Murray) MacDonald, Woodburn; Neil MacLeod (Leslie), Westville; great-grandchildren, Nia, Niobe, Kayden, Jaylee, Lindsey, Landen and Eli; nieces, Mary (Chuck) MacKinnon, Sandra (Steven) Cameron, Lwr. Barney’s River.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Whitman Davis; daughter, Winnie Arbuckle; brother, Alexander.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. John Roy officiating. Private interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
