Obituary of Harold David Whidden
FRASERS MOUNTAIN – Harold David Whidden, 84, Frasers Mountain passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Glenelg, he was a son of the late Aldon Hugh and Margaret Jean (Sutherland) Whidden. Prior to retirement, Harold was employed with Irving Oil Limited for 30 years as a delivery driver. In earlier years, he drove trucks for several companies and, worked in forestry and farming. Harold never really retired, he enjoyed cutting wood and building/fixing things in his garage. He was a quiet, gentle man who was “always there”, he leaves a rich legacy of love to his family.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Wanda (Zinck); daughter, Mora Lynn, Frasers Mountain; sons, Darin, Frasers Mountain; Paul (Amanda), Telford; sister, Mary, Dartmouth; brother, Homer, Calgary, Alta.; sister-in-law, Barb, Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeff, Scott, Mark, Brendan, Justine, Dustin, David and Dakota; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Ann in infancy and Barbara, brothers, Hugh and Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Jean and Shirley.
Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 2nd in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
No flowers by request, however, an act of kindness to another person would be most appreciated and honouring to Harold’s memory.
