LOCHABER – Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Taylor, age 67, Lochaber and St. Pete’s, Florida, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Delores Katherine (Hendsbee) Baillie, Trenton and the late Robert Donald Baillie. Betsy was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 53, Antigonish. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Betsy was an avid gardener, amazing cook and baker. She loved to laugh, tell stories and entertain her numerous guests. Betsy was most happy with a full house. Surviving besides her mom, Delores, are her husband, Robert “Rob” Taylor; daughters, Bobbi-Jo (Jason) Mahar, MacPherson’s Mills; Julia Taylor, Pictou; Jenny Taylor (Adrian), Vancouver, B.C.; sons, Jamie (Sherri) Taylor, Thorburn; Jason Taylor, Calgary, Alta.; grandchildren, Deanna, Blake, Jeffrey and Jamie; sisters, Eva (David) Simpson, Trenton; Kathy Baillie, Trenton; brother, Rupert Baillie, Trenton; many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father, Robert, she is predeceased by an aunt, Edie Volk; several uncles. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, April 11th with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of Betsy to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation Palliative Care.
