Obituary of William Henry Woolley
TELFORD – William Henry “Billy” Woolley, 84, Telford, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Thomas Alexander and Ida May (Logan) Woolley. During the Second World War, he served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, No. 22 Field Ambulance in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He had been employed as a professional painter until retirement, previously working with the Department of Highways and the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton. He was an adherent of the former French River Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Marguerite “Lilly” (Browning); son, Phillip (Lynne) “Phil” Browning, Telford; granddaughter, Lori Browning (Paul Atta); sisters, Hazel Hatfield, Betty MacKinnon, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Mae Kilner and Louise Clark; brothers, Jack and Alexander “Alex”.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Telford Cemetery with Mrs. Jessie Johnson officiating.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to the Pictou County S.P.C.A. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
