Obituary of Brenda Elizabeth McMullen

TRENTON – Brenda Elizabeth McMullen, 56, Trenton, passed away suddenly, Thursday, July 12, 2007 at her cottage at Eden Lake. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Harry Edward and Margaret Rose (DeYoung) Phalen. She had been employed with the Pictou County Home Makers, the former Cameron and Fraser Limited and had been a Mary Kay representative. She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Trenton. Brenda enjoyed the outdoors and time spent at the cottage. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are daughter, April Dawn (Richard) Greene, Avondale; son, Patrick Wayne “Pat” (Terri) McMullen, Trenton; grandchildren, Luke, Brooke and Alicia McMullen; companion, Charles “Chuckie” Hartling, Trenton; sister, Mabel (Lewis) Fraser, Trenton; brothers, Bill (Shirley), Country Harbour; Dave (Diane), Hillside; Ed (Carol), Trenton; Pat (Patty), Calgary; Gerald (Sally), Linacy; Bruce (Shirley), Calgary; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Albert McMullen; grandchildren in infancy, Christopher Patrick Wayne Greene and Emma Rose Greene. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
