Obituary of Gloria Ann MacKinnon

NEW GLASGOW - Gloria Ann MacKinnon, 77, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Thorburn, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, in the manor, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Ronald Joseph and Margaret Ann (Dunbar) Brennan. She had been a waitress at the Heather Bowling Lanes when it was located on the west side of New Glasgow. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow. Gloria’s cats, Mrs. B, M & M, Lector and Peach were an important part of her life. Surviving are her children, Ronald “Buff” MacDonald (Janet Murray), Linacy; Noell (Clifford) Alley, Prospect, Maine, U.S.A.; Myles MacDonald (Alice), Calgary, Alta; Candace (Don-Alan) MacDonald, Greenwood; Charmaine Butler (Alfie MacLean), Chance Harbour; Whitney (Rob) Sommers, Dominica, West Indies; sister, Mary Wright, Frasers Mountain; grandchildren, Tanya, Becky, Shawn, Shauntell, Beth Anne, Angela, Justin, Mason, Nick, Sadie and Emily; great-grandchildren, Raven, Jade, Austin, Alyssa, Noah and Lucia. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Natalie Cyr; brother, Blaise Brennan. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 31st in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1st in the chapel with Rev. Bruce Morrison officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Gloria’s memory to her family.
