Obituary of Vivian Jeanette Rector
PINE TREE – Vivian Jeanette Rector, 76, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of MacLellan’s Mountain and Pine Tree, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Dan John and Agnes Carolyn (Dykens) Silver. Vivian was a member of Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church, Sutherland’s River. She was employed with Valley View Villa for a number of years. Vivian enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her daughter, Teresa (Joey) Morrison, Linacy; sons, Robert (Joann) Rector, Thorburn; James (Cathy) Rector, MacLellan’s Mountain; Brian (Shelley) Rector, Westville; sister, Emily Rector, Thorburn; brothers, Fred Silver, Woodstock, Ont.; Robert (Jeanie) Silver, Linacy; Sid (Marg) Silver, Woodstock; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Brad, Jeremy and Kathlyn; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle and Zachary.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, King Rector; sisters, Clara Silver and Margaret “Margie” Silver; brother, Ralph Silver; sister-in-law, Sylvia Silver; brother-in-law, Hibbert Rector.
The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
