NEW GLASGOW – Sylvia Jane Behie, 65, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late Barry Hamilton and Leona Frances (Gault) Watson. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Surviving are her daughters, Karla (Gordon) DeWolfe, Truro; Laura (John) Billington, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Kristen, Amy, Brett and Robyn; siblings, Gerald (Carol) Watson, Truro; Shirley (Tom) Myers, Carolyn Farris (Billy), Sheet Harbour; Edith Castle, Alberta; Donald (Barb) Watson, Upper Musquodoboit; Darlene (Phil) Castle, New Glasgow; Wade (Cindy) Watson, Bedford; Christine Watson (Kim), Liverpool; sister-in-law, Nellie Watson, Truro; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Gerald Joseph Behie; brother, James Watson. There will be no visitation or service at Sylvia’s request. The family wish to thank the Palliative Care and VON Nurses, and Doctors Peter Lee and Gerry Farrell. Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
