Obituary of John Victor Lewis

NEW GLASGOW – John Victor “Buzz” Lewis, 64, Pine Street, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late David Harold and Agnes Dunlop Craig (Davie) Lewis. He had been employed with the Town of New Glasgow Department of Transportation for over 30 years, where he was a machine operator and foreman. He was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. John enjoyed traveling and animals. He loved his family. Surviving are his sister, Janet (John) Stewart, Anderson’s Mountain; brothers, Howard “Howie”, New Glasgow; Maxwell “Max” (Eileen), Trenton; niece, Agnes; nephews, Howard Jr. and John Jr.; grandnieces and grandnephews. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31st in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in John’s memory to the Pictou County SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
