Obituary of Arthur Charles Eugene Dean

COALBURN – Arthur Charles Eugene “Artie” Dean, 39, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Coalburn, passed away, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in the Villa, surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Catherine Isabel (Sutherland) Dean and the late David Eugene Dean. Artie’s lifelong passion was auto racing and in 1989 he was involved in a life changing accident while participating in the sport he loved. Surviving are his siblings, Zelda (Don) Crossman, New Glasgow; Nancy (Eric) Mercer, Regina, Sask.; Alex (Beth) Dean, Hamilton, Ont.; Mike (Gretta) Watson, MacLellan’s Brook; Irene (Ed) Joyce, Lyons Brook; Eddy (Charlotte) Dean, Maple Creek, Sask.; Paul (Beverley) Watson, Six Mile Brook ; Kevin (Maryann) Dean, Piedmont; James (Darlene) Dean, Trenton; Laura (Carl) Polych, Vancouver, B.C.; Sherry (Greg) Skidmore, Creston, B.C.; Betty Dean, Toronto, Ont.; Lolita (Andy) White, Pickering, Ont.; Elizabeth (Alex) Byrne, Digby; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, David; brothers, Billie and Allen. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24th in Trenton Church of the Nazarene, Trenton with Rev. Leon Teal officiating. Interment will be in Kenzieville Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Pictou County VON or the Valley View Villa Bus Fund, RR #1, Stellarton, NS B0K 1S0. Special thank you to everyone at Valley View Villa for the loving care Artie received since joining the Valley View family in May 2010.
