Obituary of Shirley A Baker

NEW GLASGOW – Shirley Ann Baker, 72, New Glasgow, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Evelyn (Morrison) McInnis. Shirley was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. In earlier years, she was actively involved with the local MS Society. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by those she loved. Surviving are her son, Glenn (Shirlee) Baker, Lyons Brook; grandchildren, Troy (Jessica) Baker, Truro; Morgan (Nelson) Klattenhoff, Kamsack, Sask.; Steven (Neda) Heighton, Calgary, Alta.; great-granddaughter, Ellie Quinn Klattenhoff; sisters, Freda Johnson, Westville; Phyllis Robson, Thorburn; brother, Hugh McInnis, Stellarton; niece, Cecilia (Harold) Lowe, MacLellan’s Mountain; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elliott; sisters, Betty Martell and Mary Rankin; brothers, Angus and John James; granddaughter, Nicole Heighton. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 10th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday Feb 11th in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at a later date. Thank you to the Pictou County VON for the exceptional care Shirley received.
