Obituary of Julia Irene MacDonald
STELLARTON – Julia Irene “Julie” MacDonald, 60, Stellarton, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Oxford, she was a daughter of the late Basil Leonard and Grace Elma (Mills) Carter. Julie was a front desk supervisor with Comfort Inn, New Glasgow for many years. Julie enjoyed knitting, flower gardening and spending time with her dog and cat. She will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Finlay Robert MacDonald; sons, Todd (Natasha), St. Pauls; James (Sherry), Sunnybrae; grandchildren, Anna and Jarred; sisters, Jeannie (Andrew) Weatherbie, Truro; brothers, Percy and Hal (Kari), Ottawa, Ont.; Mike (Rosemary), West Chester; Gordie (Corrine), Salmon River; brother-in-law, Greg; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by twin brothers, Ronald and Donald in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 12 – 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 19th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. Cremation to follow with interment in Sunnybrae Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29th.
The MacDonald family are eternally grateful to family friends, Kim MacCulloch, Michelle Chisholm-Wallace, Peter Feltmate and Theresa Crosby for their constant support throughout Julie’s brief illness.
