Obituary of John Alexander MacDonald
STELLARTON – John Alexander “Jack” MacDonald, 88, Stellarton, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born November 17, 1922 in Stellarton, he was a son of the late John Peter and Helen (Thompson) MacDonald. During the Second World War, he served with the Canadian Army Signal Corps overseas. Following service in the Army, he was employed as a technician at Laval Airport, Montreal for many years. He returned to Nova Scotia in the eighties and was employed at the Halifax International Airport until retirement. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy and Ray.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Jack’s request. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
