Obituary of William Nelson Duggins
LOWER BARNEY’S RIVER - William Nelson Duggins, 67, Lower Barneys River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, January 11, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late John William “Jackie” and Elsie May (Taylor) Duggins. He had been employed as a fishermen, machine operator, mechanic, retiring from Department of Transportation in his early sixties. Nelson was a former member of the Merigomish and District Fire Department. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Kathleen “Kaye” (Macumber) Duggins; sons, Stephen (Leah Morrison), Lower Barney’s River; David (Lynda MacLeod), Avondale Station; granddaughter, Brooke Duggins; foster brother, Robert “Bob” (Sandra) MacDonald, Shubenacadie; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation at Nelson’s request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 14thin P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel , New Glasgow with Rev. Pat Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney`s River.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
