Obituary of Samuel A. Mills
NEW GLASGOW – Samuel Alexander “Sam” Mills, 56, New Glasgow, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Port Hilford, Guysborough County, he was a son of Mona Edith (Hurst) Mills and the late Douglas Wellesley Mills.
January 27th brought Sam to a fork in the road on his earthly journey, with great thought and some reluctance, he chose the path with the brightest light that guided him towards his eternal home where peace, rest, and eternal happiness awaited him at the end of his long journey.
Sam was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for the past 35 years. He greatly enjoyed operating his hobby business, Captured Memories Video Services for the past 25 years. Sam would jokingly state to his clients, “Don’t expect a Hollywood production, I’m only one man”, then do the very best work possible.
Those who loved Sam and were loved by him, were truly blessed.
Surviving besides his mother are his wife and best friend, Donna (MacArthur); daughter and “apple of his eye”, Malyssa; mother-in-law and “biggest fan”, Kay MacArthur, Stellarton; “little” brother, Barry “BD” Mills, Port Hilford; nephew, Nicholas Mills, Port Hilford.
Sam’s wish to “let me leave as quietly as I came”, will be honored.
He may be remembered by “smiling on a less than perfect day” and by celebrating every moment of life.
“I know you have to shed a tear,
but remember I am always here.
I’m still your lighthouse strong and true.
Always there to comfort you.”
