Robert Leon Brantner, 78, Westville, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Rock Creek, Carroll County, Illinois, USA, he was a son of the late Benjamin Michael and Hassie Mae (White) Brantner. He was kind and thoughtful person. His life was lived based upon Christian principles. Robert was heart broken when his wife, Carrie, passed away on May 22 of this year. Surviving are his sisters, Rebecca A. (Virgil) Coomes, Freeport, Illinois; Mary C. (Lou) Henson, Champaign, Illinois; Carole F. (Don) Earp, Roseville, Illinois; brothers, Max W. (Ann Marie) Brantner, Genoa, Illinois; Herbert H. (Velma) Brantner, Savanna, Illinois; sister-in-law, Mabel Copp, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Alvira Myrtle (Copp); sisters, Marcella M. Earnest, Shirley I. Miller; brothers, Samuel A., Chester U.; brother-in-law, Carl Earnest, Dean Miller. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19th in Auburn Cemetery, Westville with Rev. Ryan King officiating. Donations may be made in his memory to The Salvation Army.
