SUTHERLAND’S RIVER – Johannes “John” Visser, 63, Sutherland’s River, passed into the arms of his Savior, from one home to another, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 with his family by his side. Born in Markness, Holland, he was a son of the late Akke and Jan (Waltors) Visser. John was a very kind hearted and loving soul who always had a smile on his face. He was a Master Service Technician and loved working in the automotive industry. He was a member and elder of Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband and father who was a very proud “Papa John” of his three granddaughters. He enjoyed many days accompanied by his furry sidekick, Trinket. He will sadly be missed by his best friend and wife of 42 years, Faye (Cameron); daughters, Tammie (Rod) Krick, Brampton, Ont.: Melanie (Darrell) Turnbull, Mt. Herbert, P.E.I.; Charity Visser ( Jordan ), Stratford, P.E.I.; son, Jonathan “Jon Raven”, Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Annika Turnbull, Cameron and Maia Krick; sisters, Ina ( Gerben) Terpstra, Brampton, Ont.; Baukje Dykstra, Pictou; Kay (Don) Vandertol, Calgary, Alta; brothers, Arnold (Hilda) Visser, Dartmouth; Cecil (Diane) Visser, Gabriola Island, B.C.; Gerald (Carole) Visser, Truro; Oege (Lenie) Visser, Claresholm, Alta.; sister-in-laws, Rose Brightman, Molly (Ralph) Cyr, Lillian (Gary) Shaw and Ida (Dougie) MacIntyre; brother-in-laws, Cyril ( Dorothy ) O’Connor, Jerry ( Jean ) O’Connor, and Hughie ( Barb ) Cameron. He will be joining his mother and father Akke and Jan Visser, his sisters, Mae Vanderhoning, Sietske Rook, and chosen daughter, Margaret in heaven. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney’s River. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in John’s memory to the Pictou County VON or Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church.
