Obituary of Stephen George Huggan
WESTVILLE / MOOSE RIVER - Stephen George Huggan, 59, Westville, formerly of Moose River, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at home.
Born in Pictou, he was the son of the late George Fulton and Abby Elizabeth (Feltmate) Huggan. Stephen spent many years in auto body repair, having been employed with Huggan’s Auto Body, Connors Auto Body and as manager of Northumberland Auto Body. He was employed for four years at the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton and had been a truck driver with Huggan’s Trucking. Stephen was proud of his involvement with emergency services, serving as a past Fire Chief with Blue Mountain Fire Department and as a Medical First Responder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, baking and watching the races. Stephen was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Maria (MacKay); daughter, Loretta Lynn (Scott) Hefler, Three Brooks; son, George Earl (Gloria) Huggan, Alberta; sisters, Karen MacFarlane (Robert), Tatamagouche; Judy (Sonny) Campbell, Durham; Melda (Jack) Langille, Jeddore; brothers, Glen Huggan, Wayne (Chris) Huggan, Westville; Allan Huggan (Marie), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Kayla and Sarah Huggan, Michael and Steven Hefler.
Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday in Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain with Rev. Calvin Crichton officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Garden of Eden Cemetery. Donations may be made in Stephen’s memory to the Blue Mountain Fire Department, RR #5, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5C8 or Canadian Cancer Society -The Lodge That Gives, Halifax.
