Obituary of Gladys Edna Eastwood

NEW GLASGOW - Gladys Edna Eastwood, 100, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2015 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Grand Manan, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Rose Edna (Lambert) Tatton. Gladys was a member of North Head United Baptist Church, Grand Manan. In 1934, she attended the former Normal School, Fredericton, N.B. and attended Sydney Business College in 1972, studying accounting. Gladys was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Peter) Harding, St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Nicki Hamilton (Rachel), Bedford; Jeffery Hamilton (Irene), St. Petersburg; great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Madison; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, William Vernon Eastwood; sisters, Iva Ross and Marjorie Small; brothers, Aubrey, Guy, Norris, Murray and Darrel. Gladys’ life will be celebrated in accordance to her wishes. She will be interred in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens alongside her beloved Vernon. Donations may be made in Gladys’ memory to any charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
