Obituary of Donald Malcolm MacAulay
STELLARTON – Donald Malcolm “Donnie” MacAulay, 76, Stellarton, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Evansville, he was a son of the late Donald Earl and Annie Kathleen (MacLean) MacAulay. Prior to retirement, he was employed with the Town of Stellarton as a heavy equipment operator. Donnie enjoyed operating backhoes, tinkering on almost anything and fixing things for family and friends. He greatly enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Paulette Frances Jane (Cornett); daughter, Karen MacAulay (Norbert Wolfrath), Plymouth; son, Cole Edward Steves, at home; sister, Jean (Walter) Mortony, Connecticut, USA; brothers, Mike (Jean) MacAulay, Shearwater; Wayne MacAulay, Stellarton and his friend, Elva MacLean, Middle River; grandchildren, Stacy, Melissa, Stephanie and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Zackary, Robbie, Daylan and Madison; sister-in-law, Florence MacAulay, Pine Tree; brother-in-law, Walter Hill, Hamilton, Ont.; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Sadie Hill and brother, Roddy MacAulay.
In honour of Donald’s wishes his family will celebrate his life privately. Interment will be in Priestville Cemetery.
