NEW GLASGOW – Ellen Elizabeth Murray, 76, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the manor. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Leroy and Anna Jessie (MacBain) Robertson. Ellen was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, where she served in the choir for many years. She enjoyed acting in various local productions and had written a short play, entitled “Christian Response”. Ellen enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She had a unique sense of humour and a love for people. Ellen will be missed by all who loved her. Surviving are her husband, Leroy S. Murray, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou; sister, Kaye (Sandy) MacPherson, Salem; brother, Donald, London, Ont.; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Arlene. The family will receive visitors 1-1:50 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with her niece, Maureen O’Hagan officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson. Interment will be in Murray’s Point Cemetery. Donations may be made in Ellen’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
