CAMERON SETTLEMENT/STELLARTON - Robert Arthur “Bob” Cameron, 81, Stellarton, formerly of Cameron Settlement, passed away peacefully Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by family. Born in Cameron Settlement, he was a son of the late Ferry Gordon and Marion Clarke (Emery) Cameron. He was a member of Kirk Memorial United Church, Glenelg and the Caledonia Community Club. He had owned and operator Bob Cameron’s trucking for 16 years, been employed in forestry and as an oil tanker crewman. He retired from the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judith Anne (Bayers); daughters, Gina (Gerald) Wallace, Grand Prairie, Alta; Anita (John) Johnston, London, Ont.; sons, Arthur Cameron, Brampton, Ont.; Ian (Margaret) Cameron, Mississauga, Ont.; Shawn (Shauna) Cameron, Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Robyn, Kaitlyn, Ross, Landon and Sander; sister, Nova Smith, Riverton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Gertrude Devannie, Mary Sutherland, Jean Mines, Isabel Chesnut; brothers, Donald, Emery, Duncan, John and Jamie. The family will receive visitors in 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 23 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11a.m. Saturday, March 24 in the chapel with Mr. Derek Elsworth officiating. Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Hattie Cemetery, Caledonia. The family wish to express their appreciation to Dr. Peter Lee and the Aberdeen Hospital fourth floor medicine nursing staff.
