Obituary of Roderick MacDougald Boehk
WESTVILLE – Roderick MacDougald “Rod” Boehk, 86, Westville, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Roderick MacDougald and Josephine (Allard) Boehk. Prior to retirement in 1991, he had been employed as a machinist with HMC Dockyard, Halifax. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Westville.
He is survived by his daughters, Beverly MacLeod (Jerry Kenny), White Hill; Ann Marie (Kent) Hodgert, Levittown, Penn; sons, Alan (Ramona) Boehk, Barrie, Ont.; John Boehk, Westville; grandchildren, Christopher, James, Matthew and Kara; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Alexander, Ethan and Nicholas; sisters, Leceta “Ceta” Higgins, Westville; Celestine “Stenie” (Leslie) MacDonald, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Doris Boehk, Halifax.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jean Mildred (Barkhouse); brother, Ernest; brother in-law, Donald Higgins; nephew, Stephen Higgins.
The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 12th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Pilsworth presiding. Private interment will be in Lorne Street Cemetery.
