Obituary of Robert Joseph Fraser
CHURCHVILLE – Robert Joseph “Bobby” Fraser, 69, Churchville, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Herbert Daniel and Anna Mae (Degruchy) Fraser. Prior to retirement, he was employed with the former Maritime Steel & Foundry, New Glasgow. Bobby had also been employed in construction, carpentry and tying steel. In earlier years, he had been employed with the former Standard Clay and Lenargo Industries, New Glasgow. Bobby’s first job was delivering telegraphs on his bicycle throughout New Glasgow. He attended Freedom Bible Church, Sutherland’s River. Bobby greatly enjoyed operating his hobby farm, puttering and helping his family and friends whenever possible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Kimberly E. “Kim” Fraser; daughters, Stacey (Peter) MacDonald, Kenzieville; Paige (Cody) Hughes, Churchville; son, Matthew Fraser (Raylene Livingstone), MacPherson’s Mills; grandchildren, Jessy, Jaxon, Isabelle, Hunter and Miles; sisters, Marie James, Thorburn; Marge Fraser, New Glasgow; Marsha (Peter) MacIntosh, New Glasgow; brothers, Ronnie (Nancy) Fraser, Little Harbour; Melvin Fraser, Trenton; Freddie (Gail) Fraser, New Glasgow; Louis (Bell) Fraser, Thorburn; friend, Moon (Karen) Purvis, Bridgeville; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by granddaughter, Shelby MacDonald in infancy.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct 29 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Pastor Alan Klein officiating.
