Obituary of Roberta Sue MacNeil
PICTOU – Roberta Sue “Bobbi” MacNeil, 75, Pictou, passed away, Monday, January 18, 2010, surrounded by her family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Wilmot, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Bessie (Fraser) Nichols. She had served as a Nurses Aid in the Royal Canadian Air Force, was employed at former National Seafood Limited, Caribou and the former Forbes Nursing Home, Lyon’s Brook. Roberta enjoyed flowers and bird watching. A loving wife and mother, her greatest joys in life were cooking, baking and caring for her family.
Surviving are her children, Darlene (Robbie) Forbes, Lyon’s Brook; Mike (Bridget), Pictou; Lloyd (Darlene), Stellarton; Bob, Ontario; Kevin, John and Raymond (Susie), Pictou; Denise MacNeil, New Glasgow; brother, Alec, Halifax; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Francis MacNeil; sons, James and Drummond; great-granddaughter, Abigail Walsh; brother, Irving Nichols.
The family will receive visitors 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21st in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton.
