Obituary of Linda Marie MacNeill

TRENTON – Linda Marie MacNeill, 68, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 20, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family. Born in Saulnierville, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Saulnier) Smith. Linda was a volunteer for the Heather Figure Skating Club, canvassed for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and was a faithful member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Surviving are sons, Thomas (Angela) Pennington, New Glasgow; Dale (Amy) Pennington, Trenton; step sons, Robert MacNeill, Pictou County; Dean MacNeill, Ontario; step daughter, Lana (Tom) Davis, Union Center; grandchildren, Samantha; Ali; Adam; Jake; and Brooke Pennington; numerous step-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Elie) Melanson, Saulnierville; Gloria Speichts, Digby; Donna (Chester) Smith, Digby; brothers, Fred (Anne), Church Point; Roy (Carol), Calgary, Alberta; Jim (Sharon), Saulnierville; Ron (Elaine), Ontario; sister-in-law, Cecile Smith, Saulnierville; many nieces and nephews Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by husband, Lawrence; sister, Alice; brother, Leonard. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday May 25, 2018 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Vargheese presiding. No flowers please. Donations may be made in Linda’s memory to Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit Endowment.
