Obituary of Robert William Worthen

PICTOU LANDING – Robert William “Bob” Worthen, Sr., 85, Pictou Landing, passed away, Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, surrounded by family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Robert William “Billy” and Carrie Worthen. Robert was a self-employed fisherman for many years and was employed with the former Trenton Works for 29 years and as a truck driver for Ray Livingstone for 18 years. He enjoyed attending card parties, playing guitar and singing. Surviving are his companion, Elaine; daughters, Juanita Casey, Vancouver, B.C.; Alice (Bert) McDonald, Garloch; Annie Cobier, Halifax; Kathy Worthen, Windsor, Ont.; Fay (Jody) McNeill, Abercrombie; Debbie (Jimmy) Baillie, Chance Harbour; sons, Butch Casey, Vancouver; Tex Casey, Saskatchewan, Man.; Kennie Barnett, Lester (Angie) Worthen, Red Dear, Alta.; Robert Jr. (Mary) Worthen, Pictou Landing; Paul Worthen, Trenton; sister, Marjorie Worthen, Ontario; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sister, Lina Underwood; brothers, Bert and Wilfred Worthen. There will be no visitation or service at Robert’s request.
