MOUNT WILLIAM – Terry Alan Rector, 63, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at home. Born in New Glasgow on January 24, 1957, he was a son of the late William “Bill” Munro and Dollina “Dolly” Rector. Terry could always be found out in the wood pile, cutting wood or tinkering around with one of the many projects he always had on the go. He enjoyed taking things apart, and not always getting them back together, which led to a lot of teasing from his family and friends. Terry enjoyed fishing, playing darts in Ward One Recreation Centre, Stellarton Fire Hall and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28, Stellarton for many years. He greatly enjoyed family get togethers, music festivals and spending time at the camp with Billy and James. Terry was an energetic, fun loving and caring man who loved his family and friends dearly. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Darlene; daughters, Brenda (Kris) Hatt, Truro; Janet, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Christian, Katelyn and Makayla; “like grandchildren”, Dylan, Colby and Brandon; sisters, Bonnie Rector, Hopewell; Sherry Moore, Nanaimo, B.C.; brothers, Billy (Susan) Munro, Thorburn; Stephen (SuKyoung) Munro, Nanaimo; Robert (Bobby) Munro, Montreal, Que.; sister-in-law, Debbie (Neil) Ross, Springville; nieces, Shawna (James) Strowbridge, Dartmouth; April Munro, Thorburn; Candice Munro and Crystal Rolfe, Nanaimo; Sonia Allen, Trenton; Caitlyn Jobe, Hopewell; nephews, Ryan and Jayden Munro, Nanaimo; Michael Slowick, New Glasgow; several cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law; special friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his “second mom”, Bessie Munro; mother-in-law, Rosalie MacEachern; father-in-law, Donald MacEachern. Terry’s family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at his late residence, 1106 Mount William Road, Mount William. No flowers, please.
