Obituary of Susan Elaine Cutcliffe-Miller

STELLARTON – Susan Elaine Cutcliffe-Miller, 39, Stellarton, passed away, Monday, August 24, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family. Raised in Little Harbour, she was a daughter of Alger and Elizabeth (Thomson) Cutcliffe, Little Harbour. She obtained her B.Ed. from the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College, Truro and became a much-loved teacher to many students throughout Pictou County. Susan was a member of the G.R. Saunders school advisory council and dedicated her time to fundraising for the school. She enjoyed playing with her Labrador Retrievers, Hope and Kenya. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. The loss of her kindness, compassion, courage, and infectious smile will leave a deep void in the lives of her many family and friends. Surviving besides her parents, Alger and Elizabeth are her husband, Fraser; beautiful daughters, Ireland and Briar, at home; sister, Nancy (Ernest) Cutcliffe-Douglas, Valley; biological family, Marsha and Nicholas, Riverview, N.B.; father and mother in-law, Doug and Shirley Miller, Dieppe, N.B., sister-in-law, Charlene (Calvin) Strang Dieppe; niece Abby; many aunts, uncles and cousins will also profoundly feel Susan’s loss. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 27th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 28th in the chapel with Mr. Neil Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s memory to her daughters education, C/o of their father, Fraser Miller, P.O. Box 1024, Stellarton, NS B0K 1S0.
