Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Allain

TRENTON – Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Allain, 82, Trenton, passed away July 18, 2017, at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine (MacLean) Chislett. Betty was a member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton where she served on the Liturgy Committee. She enjoyed long drives with no destination in mind, knitting and baking. Surviving are daughter, Darlene Laffin (Bobby MacLeod), New Glasgow; sons, Wayne (Angela), Trenton; Alonzo (Natalie), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Megan, Jason and Jayden; sisters, Bernadette (Joe) Hughes, Trenton; Peggy (Jack) Jardine, Trenton; Marie (Chris) Lamey, Trenton; former son-in-law, David Laffin, Lourdes; former brother-in-law, Bruce Laffin, Trenton; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Alonzo; sisters, Shirley, Cathy, Anderine, Millie, and Catherine “Toots”; brothers, Fred “Bud”, James; brothers-in-laws, John and Gordon. The family will receive visitors 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Our Lady Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. Private family burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Diabetes Canada.
