Obituary of Allister Patrick Palmer
ABERCROMBIE – Allister Patrick Palmer, 67, Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Patrick Thomas and Mary Alice (MacPherson) Palmer. In earlier years, Allister worked as an ironworker, mainly as a Rigger. He was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 40 years, where he obtained his Red Seal Millwright certification. Allister was a member of The Millwrights and Machine Erectors Local Union 1178. He studied auctioneering in North Dakota and Ontario. Upon obtaining his Auctioneering certification, owned and operated Bluenoser’s Auction Services for many years. Allister enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the rink. His family’s wellbeing was always priority. Allister was an independent thinker, who possessed a strong will and determination. He passes on a legacy of love and strong work ethic.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Emily “Liz” (Fraser); daughters, Vicki (Sanjay) Mahabir, Miramichi, N.B.; Sherri Palmer (Dave Johnson), Churchville; son, Allan (Joyda) Palmer, Abercrombie; grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Chloe, Alex and Alana; sister, Evelyn “Evie” (Albert) Munro, Westville; brothers, John (Barbara), Thorburn; Andrew (Jane), Port Hawkesbury; Donald (Edna), Westville; James (Theresa), Hazel Glen; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Allister’s request.
