Obituary of Clara Rose Paris

NEW GLASGOW - Clara "Gug" Rose Paris, 77, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, April 23, 2012. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Ida (Jewell) Paris. She was a member of Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow. Clara worked for Fraser Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid, the Norfolk Hotel and Wynn’s Inn as a cook and as a housekeeper for many years. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Surviving are son, Stephen, Ottawa, Ont; daughter, Norma Paris, New Glasgow; granddaughter, Stephanie, Ottawa, Ont.; great-granddaughter, Lilly, Ottawa, Ont.; God daughter, Jada Cosh, New Glasgow; brothers, James A. (Ann) Paris, Laval, Que.; Allan, New Glasgow; Thomas, Montreal, Que.; sister, Florrie, New Glasgow; Nancy (Dave) Paris, Truro; Peggy (Dave) Cosh, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Doreen Paris, New Glasgow; Theresa Paris, London, Ont.; an aunt and two uncles; special niece, Paula Paris, New Glasgow; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters, Maxine Paris, Mildred Major; brothers, Barry, John and Norman and son, Michael. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Second United Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, Pictou County VON or Second United Baptist Church, Building Fund. “In all thy way’s acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
