Obituary of Robert William Ross
NEW GLASGOW- Robert William “Bill” Ross age 86, of Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Roderick and Catherine (Stroud) Ross. He was a welder at Trenton Works for 34 years. Bill enjoyed playing the fiddle and going to dances with his wife, Bernadette. He played his fiddle music at the senior’s homes and family house parties. Born and raised on the farm he loved all animals. Dad was a loving, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his son, Duncan Ross (Dawn) New Glasgow; daughter, Florence Craig, Westville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his, beloved wife Mary Bernadette Ross; and his dearly loved son-in-law, David Craig; sisters, Marjorie Taylor, Mary Ross, Helen Dowell; brothers, Don and Duncan Ross and James Ross infancy.
There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held 11a.m. Friday, September 6 in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
