Obituary of Elaine Gertrude Rhyno

RIVERTON – Elaine Gertrude Rhyno, 95, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Plymouth Park, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Bridgewater on April 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Henry Herbert and Beatrice (Whynot) Ward. She enjoyed being a home maker, knitting for the needy and playing cards. For Elaine, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are her daughter, Valerie Rhyno (Scott Malcolm), New Glasgow; sons, Fred Rhyno (Brenda Woods), MacPherson’s Mills; Gerald Rhyno, Plymouth Park; Anthony “Tony” (Charmaine) Rhyno, Blackfalds, Alberta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Andrew Rhyno; daughter, Isabel DeBruyn; son, Howard Rhyno; sisters, Mildred Davis, Ada Schindeler, Hilda Dahl, Harriet Smith and Hazel Boutlier; brothers, George and Eugene Ward. A private graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made in Elaine’s memory to Cat Rescue Maritimes, Pictou County Chapter.
