Obituary of David Reid Joyce

TRENTON - David Reid “Davy” Joyce, 60, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015, after a ten month battle with cancer. Born on October 5, 1955, he was a son of the late Freda Mary (Perry) Joyce. Davy was a long-time resident of Trenton and was an avid musician, a lover of The Blues. He loved to fix things for anyone who would show up at his door, particularly electronic devices. David was very fond of his “Girls”, his three cats, who were his constant companions. He enjoyed broadcasting and operated a radio station for over 20 years, playing a mixture of classic rock and blues - sadly, 92.1 FM is off the air. Surviving are sister, Jamsene “Jamie” Perry (Ralph Berenguer), Toronto, Ont.; brother, Andrew “Buddy” Joyce (Leah Ferguson), Abercrombie. There will be no visitation at David’s request. A private graveside service will be held. Donations may be made in David’s memory to Pictou County SPCA. David’s family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital and QEII, VG site, for the care and compassion shown.
