Obituary of James Francis MacLeod

WESTVILLE - James Francis “Jimmy” MacLeod, 70, Westville, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James Cowan and Mary Catherine (Hayden) MacLeod. Prior to retirement due to ill health, Jimmy was a truck driver for many years, having worked for Eastern Transport for over 20 years and with King Freight for several years. In earlier years he was employed with the former Trenton Works and MacGregor Wholesalers. Jimmy was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville. He enjoyed fixing cars, painting, plumbing and anything else he could do to help others. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ann MacLeod; son, Steven (Vickie) MacLeod, Westville; daughter, Lesa (David) Cameron, Westville; grandchildren, Jay, Courtney, Zack, Alex and Mary; great-grandson, Cameron; sisters, Evelyn (Danny) Dunn, Westville; Margaret (Bruce) Battist, Westville; brothers, Bert (Sheila) MacLeod, Bridgeville; Phil (Ann) MacLeod, Arichat; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 in the chapel with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. Family flowers only.
