Obituary of Vivian Celestine MacDonald

STELLARTON – Vivian Celestine “Stenie” MacDonald, 83, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Stellarton, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the manor, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Roderick MacDougald and Josephine (Allard) Boehk. She was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, where she had served with the UCW. In earlier years, Stenie had been actively involved with her children in figure skating, serving as secretary for the Heather Figure Skating Club and the Highland Area. She and her late husband, Les, enjoyed camping with the Good Turn Campers. Stenie was a diligent homemaker, taking great pride in looking after her family. Surviving are her daughters, Kathy (Chris) Scott, Oakville, Ont.; Kim (Joseph) Gray, Lower Sackville; Sheri (Ray) Burns, Stellarton; son, Paul (Anita) MacDonald, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Angela (Mark), Matthew, Michele, Amber, Brendan, Luke and Liam; great-granddaughter, Lyla Marie; sister, Leceta “Ceta” Higgins, Westville; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Leslie Marshall “Les” MacDonald; brothers, Ernest and Roderick “Rod”. The family will receive visitors 10-10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
