Obituary of Sharon Elizabeth Redmond
NEW GLASGOW – Sharon Elizabeth Redmond, 74, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her children by her side.
Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., she was a daughter of Dorothy (Sullivan) Walsh, Kamloops, B.C. and the late Gerald Thomas Rector. Sharon was employed with Eastern Sign Print until retirement in 2011. She possessed a “wicked sense of humour” and an incredible work ethic. Sharon was the sole caregiver to her late partner, Don, for many years for whom her love knew no bounds. Her friendly demeanour and ready smile attracted many new and long-lasting friendships. Sharon’s fur babies, Storm and Allie were her constant companions. Her family are comforted to know that mom entered peaceful rest, to await the day of joyful resurrection.
Surviving are her children, Kimberly Cook (Matthew Campbell), Salmon River; Michelle MacLaren, New Glasgow; Trevor Redmond, Dartmouth; Christopher (Jackie) Redmond, Halifax; Karrie Redmond, Caribou; grandchildren, Anastasia, Isaac, Alexandria, Damien, Zachary, Joshua, Kristianna, Dmitry, Brianna, Emma and Tristen; great-grandson, Ben; sister, Lynn Crystall (Doug), Kamloops; half-sister, Nancy Broadfoot, St. Paul, Alta.; brother, Melbourne Rector, 100 Mile House, B.C.; half-brother, Jason Walsh, Prince George, B.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her partner, Donald “Don” Power; brother, Stuart Rector.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Saturday, November 20 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
