Obituary of Lawrence Barry Cameron
ABERCROMBIE – Lawrence Barry Cameron, 73, Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Barry Howett “Bunny” and Elizabeth Bradley (Arbuckle) Cameron. Lawrence was a millwright, a metal fabricator and a long-haul truck driver. He owned and operated Cameron Trailers for several years. Lawrence owned and built stockcars which were raced on many Ontario short-tracks. He enjoyed fishing and watching/attending NASCAR races. Lawrence lived life on his own terms enjoying each mile of the journey.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Doris (Tonelli); daughter, Kimberley Cameron, New Glasgow; sons, Bradley (Debbie) Cameron, Eureka; Adrian Cameron, Bridgeville; sister, Gayle (Blair) Crooks, Dartmouth; brothers, Phillip “Phil” (Barb) Cameron, Bible Hill; Richard, Lower Barney’s River; grandchildren, Alex, AJ, Delaney, Courtney, Mason, Cole and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Sophia and Bradley; many nieces, nephews and cousins; Tonelli family, Ontario; many friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by in-laws, Robert and Doris Tonelli.
A public graveside service will be held 4:30 p.m., Friday September 6, 2019 in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney’s River with Rev. Andrew S. MacDonald officiating.
The Cameron family extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Aberdeen Hospital ALC and Palliative Care Units for the excellent care Lawrence Barry received.
