WESTVILLE - Gail Patricia (Curley) Couture, 75, Westville, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her husband, Fred by her side. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Russell Phillip and Christine Jean (Ross) Curley. Gail was raised in New Glasgow, baptized, and confirmed in St. John the Baptist Church, New Glasgow and moved with her family in her mid-teens to Welland, Ont. She was employed with the Government of Ontario, beginning with the Vital Statistics Department, and shortly thereafter, transferring to the Department of Finance where she served as Data Service Manager for many years. Gail retired 15 years ago in a senior management position, moving back to Pictou County with Fred to be near family. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed nothing better to be curled up in her favourite chair reading a book with a glass of pop. For Gail, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Frederick Paul “Fred” Couture; chosen children, John and Toni; many cousins. A private graveside service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. If desired, donations may be made in memory of Gail to the Canadian Cancer Society.
