Obituary of Evelyn Mae Richard
LINACY – Evelyn Mae “Evey Mae” Richard, 51, Linacy, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Bobby and Patsy (Dobson) Richard, Linacy. Evelyn was a member of the East Pictou Rural High School 1984 graduation class. Following graduation, she moved to Mississauga, Ont., where she was employed as a customer service representative with FedEx Express for 23 years. In 2011, she and her fiancé, Loren, moved back to Linacy to be close to family and friends. Evelyn spent many enjoyable hours curled up with her little dog, Buddy, watching movies. She was a very bubbly person who was more worried about everyone else than herself. Evelyn possessed an enduring smile and love for her family.
Surviving besides her parents, are fiancé, Loren Harrison; step-son, Nicholas Harrison; sisters, Michele (Mark) MacDonald and their children, Jessica and Brady, Linacy; Lisa (Jason) Helpard and son, Eric, Hammonds Plains; Tracy (Kevin) Arbuckle and their children, Kayden and Jaylee, Cambridge, Ont.; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Dobson, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Everett Dobson; paternal grandparents, George and Sadie Richard.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Woodburn Cemetery at a later date.
