Obituary of Fraser Ronald Lawrence

ABERCROMBIE – Fraser Ronald Lawrence, 71, Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Whitman George and Kathleen Anita (O’Moore) Lawrence. Fraser was a master plumber, having been employed in St. Catherine’s, Ont. for 14 years and retiring from the former Kimberely Clark, Abercrombie on September 1, 2003 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Communication Energy & Paper Workers Union, Local 440. Fraser enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and all sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marlene Joyce (Muir); daughters, Marlene “Lynn” (Greg) Fraser, Thorald, Ont.; Judy Lynn Lawrence, New Glasgow; Tracey Lawrence, at home; sons, Roland (Cindy) Lawrence, St. Catherine’s; Michael Lawrence, Welland, Ont.; Ronald (Jill) Lawrence, Cole Harbour; brothers, Robert “Robbie” (Ann) Lawrence, Huron Park, Ont.; Barry (Sharon) Lawrence, Westville; Steven (Debby) Lawrence, Stellarton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Donna Marie Lawrence; sisters, Judy Lawrence and Mary Lynn MacPherson. The family will receive visitors from 10 – 10:50 a.m. Saturday, March 20th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with Rev. John Roy presiding. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
