MERIGOMISH – Daniel Joseph “Danny” Pellerine, 73, Merigomish, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Perrin) Pellerine. Danny enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping and was known for his large collection of hats. He enjoyed playing and teaching his grandchildren the harmonica. Danny enjoyed entertaining people everywhere he went, most frequently in the kitchen, car and campground. On August 30, 2015, he was thrilled when invited to play on stage with his idol, Kevin Beanland. Danny will be best remembered for bringing joy wherever he went. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Stewart-Pellerine; daughters, Sarah Joyce, Merigomish; Katherine Stewart (Maynard Richards), New Glasgow; sons, John Joyce (Amy Morrison), Merigomish; Christopher (Dora) DeYoung, Lanark, Ont.; “like a son”, Frankie Rogers, Plymouth; grandchildren, Ariana, Caraira, Lily, Tyler, Matthew, Dominic and Haley; sisters, Kathy (Wayne) Otter, Caribou; Eileen Lewis, Stellarton; brothers, Percy (Joan) Pellerine, Lourdes; Willy Pellerine, New Glasgow; Wilfred (Doris) Pellerine, Westville; Michael Pellerine, Truro; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by infant sister, Katherine; brother-in-law, Max Lewis. A private Celebration of Danny’s life will be held at a later date.
