WESTVILLE – Gail Violet McGee, 61, Westville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Aloysius Richard and Margaret Elizabeth (Fraser) O’Hagan. She was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville, having previously attended the former St. Gregory’s Parish, New Glasgow and St. Ann’s Parish, Thorburn, where she served as a Religious Education instructor for 34 years. Gail was a hairdresser and caregiver, and especially enjoyed working with children. She was a talented acrylic painter, seamstress and crafter. Gail enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her adoring grandchildren. She leaves a rich legacy of “a beautiful soul, kind heart and absolute love”. For Gail, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Dennis McGee; daughters, Pam (Evan) Lavers, Westville; Holly McGee (Alexi Ladéroute), St. John’s, N.L.; grandchildren, Rhyan, Tatum and Jaxx Lavers, Westville; siblings, Michael (Stephanie) O’Hagan, Yarmouth; Wayne (Rose) O’Hagan, Churchville; Joanne (Brian) MacAulay, New Glasgow; many nieces, nephews and in-laws. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville.
