NEW GLASGOW – Virginia Christine Lindsay Barbosa, 41, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Agnes Gerarda Maria (Lindsay) Barbosa and the late José Carlos Galante Barbosa. Virginia obtained her degree in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University, Halifax in 2004. She began her career with Shoppers Drug Mart, New Glasgow, later moving to serve in smaller community pharmacies. Virginia was forever grateful to Jack, Michael, Alex and Peter for giving her the opportunity to excel. Virginia was a devoted softball player since the age of seven when her and her sister joined the Stellarton and Area Minor Softball Association, rising through the ranks from Squirt to Ladies League. The coach was usually, dad, which added to the joy of playing the game. She enjoyed playing all positions, especially, catcher. Virginia played the game she loved for years, attending several provincial tournaments, until sidelined several years ago due to an automobile accident. She had a very special place in her heart for her beautiful large Bullmastiffs, Cooper and Gracie, and her fur babies, Jose and Carlos. Gin was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, partner, sister, niece, and friend. Virginia’s decision has left her family and those who loved her devastated. However, her family, although heartbroken are comforted to know that for Virginia, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving besides her mother, Aggie, Sutherland’s River; sister, Jennifer (Katelyn), Halifax; partner, Cole Allan, New Glasgow; estranged husband, Jeff Kirincich, Riverton; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Joe; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Lindsay; paternal grandparents, José and Alzira Barbosa. In honour of Virginia, her family will celebrate her life privately.
