Obituary of Kent Mullin

Kent Mullen, 70, Stellarton, passed away at QEII Hospital in Halifax early Sunday morning, March 23, 2008. Born in Bermuda on April 14, 1937, Kent is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen, their children Cheyanne (Dave Glenen), Heather (Lorne Matheson), Kent Jr., and Stuart; grandchildren Jillian, Ben, Rebecca, Joshua, Zachary, Noah, Stephanie, Kent, Jennifer, Gabrielle, and Adelaide. Kent met Helen when she left Newfoundland to work as a nurse in Bermuda. They returned their young family to Canada in 1964 and lived in St. John’s and Schefferville before settling in Stellarton in 1973. Kent retired from Michelin and spent many happy years with friends and family in Lansdowne and Stellarton. He was an active member of the local naturalist society, a noted mycologist, an avid computer user, and a lifelong learner. His keen mind and diverse opinions will be missed by all who knew him. Kent will be remembered as a generous man whose heart was always open. Cremation has taken place. A gathering to remember him will be held at his daughter’s, home – 430 Nelson Street, New Glasgow on Tuesday, March 25 from 2-4 pm. No flowers by request. Donation in memory of Kent may be made to the David Suzuki Foundation.
