Obituary of Jocelyn Helen May
ABERCROMBIE – Jocelyn Helen May, 65, Abercrombie, formerly of Labrador City, N.L., passed away suddenly, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Humbermouth, N.L., she was a daughter of Sarah Ann Barbara (Seaward) Rose, Labrador City and the late Walter Edward Rose. Jocelyn had a varied working career, working as a florist, Special Needs Teachers Aid, school custodian and cashier. She was a former member of Acadia Sisters #609, LOBA, Westville. Jocelyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making crafts. She was a very charitable person, who enjoyed attending the Wednesday social group at the Community Cupboard.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her mom, Barbara, daughters, DeAnn Gillingham (Hassan), Cambridge, Ont.; Leigh-Ann Roberts (Coralee), Labrador City; grandchildren, Mitchell, Victoria “Tory”, Chantale and Chase; great-grandchildren, Saleem, Kylo and Aisha; sisters, Evelyn Rose, Humbermouth; Rita (Clifford) Wallace, Saint John, N.B.; brothers, Harry (Julie) Rose, Labrador City; George (Colette) Rose, Fort McMurray, Alta.; Dwayne (Cindy) Rose, Winnipeg, Mann.; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Morgan May.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
